Singapore Shipping Forum 2023: Managing the Waves of Shipping

The Singapore Shipping Forum 2023, jointly organised by Moore Stephens LLP and BNP Paribas, was held from 2pm to 6pm on Thursday, 27 April 2023. After two years of virtual events, this year’s Forum was held physically at The Raffles Hotel. This Forum was held in conjunction with the annual Singapore Maritime Week conducted by the Maritime Port and Authority of Singapore and was attended by over 250 shipping and financial veterans in the industry.

The global maritime industry has experienced volatile upheavals in the past year. Global geopolitical crises, the China COVID lockdown and subsequent reopening, massive volatility in freight rates and asset prices, and growing ESG regulatory scrutiny, to name but a few. What do these mean for maritime supply chains, and how should ship owners respond?
