Hello everyone, my name is Kenny. I am an accountancy undergraduate at the Singapore Management University. I recently concluded a 3-month internship at Moore Singapore and I am here to share with you my experience through Discover Moore.
Fortunate enough to be awarded a financial scholarship to students who are passionate about public accounting, the scholarship included the opportunity to complete an Audit Internship and also allowed me to pursue a holistic education at SMU.
TYPICAL MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT AUDIT INTERNSHIPS?
The number one misconception about Audit Interns, is that they only do menial work like making scans and copies and that they aren’t allowed to express their opinions. I was able to engage with some of the more meaningful parts of the audit like conducting tests and reviewing the controls. My seniors and associates were also very receptive of my opinions and feedback and it made the attachment here at Moore Singapore, very meaningful.
WHAT ARE THE THREE WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE INTERNSHIP HERE AT MOORE SINGAPORE?
I’d say the three words would be ‘Meaningful’, ‘Fulfilling’ and ‘Heart-warming’.
IF I COULD SWAP SEATS WITH ANYONE AT WORK, WHO WOULD IT BE?
I’d say I’d swap seats with my manager, because he sits closest to the pantry and that’s where all the snacks are. 😊
